What's the plan for the next version/generation of SPAM?

We will continue to improve our model as more and more remote sensing data are available. On one hand, we would improve SPAM 2000 results by incorporating comments/feedbacks from users, or newly collected data. On the other hand, we are preparing for SPAM 2005 - global crop distribution circa  Year 2005. We plan to estimate global crop distributions every five years. At the same time, we could apply SPAM more frequently (e.g. yearly) at regional or country levels. We also plan to improve the spatial resolution, e.g. from currently 5 arc-minute (about 10 x 10 km) to 30 arc-second (about 1 x 1 km).
